The comparison shows text that stays the same alongside additions and removals. It compares words, punctuation, spaces, and line breaks, treating Windows and Unix line endings alike. A changed phrase usually appears as a removal followed by an addition. This is useful for reviewing plain-text drafts; it does not compare document fonts, formatting, or track-changes history.

Compare The blue car with The red car to highlight blue as removed and red as added. The unchanged words remain visible for context.
A useful tip
For very different large inputs, changed sections are shown as larger blocks to keep the page responsive. Compare smaller passages for finer detail.
